If you haven’t had a reason to spice up your date night jam lately, look no further than hanging at the Porch – Porch Kitchen & Bar that is. It’s the latest watering hole in Downtown Louisville, and having been three times now, I can tell you it is the greatest upscale comfort food the city has to offer.
Porch Kitchen & Bar opened up almost two months ago, and business has been great! Recently, I stopped by with a few questions for the Chefs for StyleBlueprint’s 6 New Louisville Restaurants to Try for Spring 2018.
The restaurant is connected to the Louisville Marriott Downtown, and offers breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. Rest assured, this is not your average “hotel restaurant,” there was an immense amount of thought and perfection placed into this fresh new concept.

Chefs Josh Carter and Graham Weber had the idea of the old neighborhood front porch, where everyone gathers, as the concept behind the restaurant. Porch Kitchen & Bar is nestled in just the right spot.
From the corner of Jefferson Street, you can peer into the large windows cascading around the restaurant. From the sitting areas to the full bar, this “porch” is the new neighborhood watering hole.
“The neighborhood porch coincides with a feeling of community,” says Chef Weber. “It’s the iconic American gathering place.”
Porch Kitchen & Bar Menu and Food
Porch Kitchen & Bar serves up classic American dishes with an upscale twist – but extremely reasonable prices! With the trendy – almost industrial – aesthetic, it’s the perfect blend of slow sittin’ with a fast paced hustle just outside the doors.
As one might have guessed, with a concept such as this, Kentucky’s iconic meal will be on the menu. Both chefs tested their own versions of the Kentucky Fried Chicken for one year before adding it to the menu. “This is more than just a restaurant or a bar — it’s an experience,” says Chef Carter. “There is thought put into every single ingredient.”
With more than 500 different ingredients across the menu, including sourced cheeses from Mexico, this may be the most intentional concept yet. The menu items range from fried chicken and vegan quinoa chilli, all the way to a big tasty burger!

I highly recommend the Grilled Fish Tacos: mahi mahi, pico de gallo, iceberg lettuce, guacamole, baja sauce, elote style creamed corn. The husband gravitated to the Beer-Battered Seafood & Chips, of course. He offered a taste, but as I was swooning over my perfectly grilled mahi mahi, I couldn’t concentrate on much else.
We plan to make it for Brunch very soon. I anticipate diving face first into this beautiful eggs benedict.
